What is the difference between BU and Erwerbsunfähigkeit?

BU (Berufsunfähigkeit) covers you if you can no longer work in your specific profession. Erwerbsunfähigkeit from the state only applies if you cannot work in any job at all. Private BU insurance is therefore essential for proper protection.

Is occupational disability insurance worth it?
